මේ වනවිට මහ බැකු වාර්තාව සම්බන්ධයෙනුත් සංඛ්‍යා ලේඛණ දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව පිළිබඳවත් රටේ ජනතාව තුළ බරපතළ සැකයක් මතුවී ඇති බවත් ඒ නිසා මේ සම්බන්ධයෙන් විමර්ශනයක් පැවැත්වීමට විශ්‍රාමලත් විනිසුරුවරයෙකුගේ ප්‍රධානත්වයෙන් සංඛ්‍යා ලේඛණ විමර්ශන කොමිසමක් පත්කළ යුතු බව මන්ත්‍රීවරයා වැඩිදුරටත් සඳහන් කළේය. එම විමර්ශන කොමිසම මගින් සංඛ්‍යා දත්ත සකස් කිරීම පිළිබඳ නිර්ණායකයන් රටට හෙළිකළ යුතු බවද ඔහු අවධාරණය කරයි.

Parliamentarian Dissanayaka said people in the country are highly suspicious of reports forwarded by the Central Bank and the Department of Statistics and suggested that an investigation commission under a retired judge should be appointed to investigate statistics and data defrauds carried out by the government. He said the relevant commission should reveal to the country its approach and the procedure.
